Earlier this summer, we introduced you to the museum\u2019s three summer interns<\/a>.\u00a0 They went back to school in August, and we\u2019re sorry to see them go.\u00a0 Everyone managed to get a lot done, though, and we are very thankful for their work.\u00a0 Here\u2019s an update on their projects.<\/p>\n

This summer Jenn Collins researched and cataloged two large collections donated in the early days of the museum.\u00a0 She also researched and installed a small exhibit on RC Model Skydivers and helped develop a multimedia label for the A.J. Walker Company exhibit (which, sadly, is waiting on some more information before it can be completed).<\/p>\n

Samantha Weaver\u00a0spent her days working on redesigning several exhibits.\u00a0 Along with Michael Smith she re-designed the Scale Exhibit, installed the Balsa Exhibit and then researched and installed the Jets Exhibit on her own.<\/p>\n

Samantha reinstalled the models in the Jets Exhibit to be more visible and attractive. She\u2019s also wrote a new text panel (not installed in this picture) with information on jet motors.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Justin Kersey\u00a0worked on multiple Archives projects, including helping scanning Model Aviation<\/em> issues from the 1960s, filing newspaper clippings by subject, worked on our past Nats winners spreadsheet, reorganized an archives collection, and helped with research requests.<\/p>\n
