Robert K. Sifleet<\/a> was pretty lucky in 1962. The Nats were held at Glenview Naval Air Station in IL, which was only 15 minutes from where he was going to school. That meant he didn\u2019t need to bother with staying on base and could commute to compete in between his summer classes. Thankfully his split attention didn\u2019t diminish his flying focus and he walked away \u2013 again \u2013 as Grand National Champion and Open National Champion.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s his trophies! Turns out that this isn\u2019t the first time they\u2019ve been displayed, either. Bob was working part-time at Stanton\u2019s Hobby Shop and after the Nats he showed the trophies off there!<\/p>\n
