Hey!\u00a0 Where did the OQ-2A go?\u00a0 Its spot at the National Model Aviation Museum is empty.\u00a0 That\u2019s because our OQ-2A has been loaned to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum<\/a> for their new special exhibit, Drones: Is the Sky the Limit?<\/em><\/a>, which opens May 10, 2017 and runs through December 3, 2017.<\/p>\n

The place where the National Model Aviation Museum’s OQ-2A once was is now empty! Another exhibit is coming soon.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Intrepid Museum’s exhibit is the first large-scale exhibit covering the history, technology and social impact of drones.\u00a0 Besides our OQ-2A, the exhibit will also feature other military drones as well as drones used for agricultural monitoring, tracking and researching hurricanes, and delivering supplies to those in need.\u00a0 The exhibit will also take a look at the future of drones and potential applications for daily life.<\/p>\n

The NMAM is pleased to partner with the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum<\/a>.\u00a0 If you are in New York City in 2017 make sure you visit to check out Drones: Is the Sky the Limit?<\/a> <\/em>as well as the rest of the exhibits and aircraft that the Intrepid Museum offers (like the Space Shuttle Enterprise!<\/a>).<\/p>\n

We do have some plans to use the space that the OQ-2A occupied while it is gone.\u00a0 Stay tuned for what comes on exhibit here soon!<\/p>\n
