Avion Machine and Tool Co. marketed their Mercury 45 engine to RC fans in 1946 by focusing on their new “real” carburetor which could regulate both gas and air simultaneously, allowing full control over the speed.\u00a0 The ad makes a point, though, to say that while this is most advantageous in Radio Control, it could still be used in Free Flight.\u00a0 Paul E. Chapman, Jr., recently donated this Mercury 45 in honor of his father, Paul E. Chapman, Sr.<\/p>\n
