Dan designed and built the test model to help Burt Rutan demonstrate the re-entry feathering concept. Burt had Dan fly the RC test model for all the SpaceShipOne test pilots to instill confidence that the feathering concept would work.<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"color: #444444;\"><p><i>&#8220;These models were significant tools in the development of some of the most unique and historically significant full-scale aircraft ever built and will join those currently on loan from NASA Dryden.
