Honor to be Weird and Wonderful"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Academy of Model Aeronautics and National Model Aviation Museum are honored to be a part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.minnetrista.net\/\">Minnetrista Cultural Center\u2019s<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.minnetrista.net\/events\/2013\/10\/25\/featured-exhibit\/weird-wonderful-25-reasons-to-love-our-community\">\u201c25 Weird and Wonderful Reasons to Love Our Community\u201d <\/a>exhibit celebrating Minnetrista\u2019s 25th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit features 25 mini-exhibits about places and things around Muncie and surrounding communities.\u00a0 These top 25 were chosen after a year of surveying residents to find out what they like best about living here.\u00a0 Other places showcased in the exhibit include the <a href=\"https:\/\/cardinalgreenways.org\/\">Cardinal Greenway<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/ballofpaint.freehosting.net\/index.html\">world\u2019s largest ball of paint<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pizzakingindiana.com\/\">Pizza King<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.loweryscandies.com\/Index\/index.php\">Lowery\u2019s candies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The AMA\u2019s mini-exhibit features five model airplanes, pictures of the AMA, and a flight simulator.\u00a0 The models all were chosen because of their colorful and fun nature, as well as their ability to explain model aviation to novices.\u00a0 The models are: Ted Patrolia\u2019s Cobra FF model, Luther Hux\u2019s RC model skydiver Chris, Ronald Sears\u2019 CL Boeing Stearman PT-17, Gail Jacobson\u2019s RC Pylon Racer Little Toni and a RC hot air balloon designed and flown by Norman Hupp.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1084\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1084\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/amablog-modelaircraft-org.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2013\/11\/WWMinnetrista_AMA.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" balloon are exhibited at Minnetrista\u2019s Weird and Wonderful exhibit.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The museum was also asked to provide a 1\/16th scale 1903 Wright Flyer to include in the portion of the exhibit dedicated to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wwbirthplace.com\/\">Wilbur Wright Birthplace and Museum<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1085\" you should visit.
