The proposed rules would enable users to fly freely throughout Oregon State Parks, rather than being restricted to designated \u201cdrone zones.\u201d The rules would also create no-fly zones in areas such as campgrounds, wildlife-safe zones, and parking lots. These busy and sensitive areas would remain off limits for the safety and privacy of the people and wildlife in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public comments can be made to Oregon State Parks until <strong>April 7, 2022, at 5 p.m. PST<\/strong>. We encourage our members to voice support for the right to safely fly model aircraft and drones at safe locations throughout state parks. What happens in Oregon could set a precedent for other state parks and recreational areas throughout the country.
