Protecting, Collecting, and Preserving our Rockets

Along with all the model airplanes and flying equipment and memorabilia in the collection, the museum also has a small collection of model rockets. When these rockets were received in the mid-1990s little information was documented on their donors and history. In remembrance of long-time member George Buso, AMA 927

In remembrance of his father, George Buso (AMA 927), Steve Buso contacted the AMA Foundation in the hopes of providing a donation to the organization that provides support for the hobby his father was very passionate about. Steve chose to donate a total of $1,500 in memory of his father, to both the education fund, and to purchase an AMA Walk of Fame brick. Estate Sale in Honor of the Late Robert Kettell

Recently Loretta Kettell contacted the Academy of Model Aeronautics hoping to donate her husband’s items to be enjoyed by those who are passionate about model aviation. District 2 Vice President, Eric Williams, volunteered to sell the items on behalf of the AMA Foundation. The Academy of Model Aeronautics Foundation would like to thank the family of Dewey Orville Broberg Jr. for creating the Dewey O. Broberg Jr. Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship will be available in 2016 for high school seniors.
