Impact of Camp on Past Campers

If you've read some of our recent posts about Camp AMA, then you know how excited we are for our campers to arrive in June.

It may seem like the Education Team is only excited for Camp because we work at the AMA, but that couldn't be further from the truth. We're excited because Camp AMA is such an incredible experience!

But don't take our word for it; campers have shared their positive experiences in the years past through survey results.

Overall, campers are highly satisfied with their camp experience. The average satisfaction rating of Camp AMA 2021 and 2022 was 9.3 out of 10! And 100% of camp attendees who responded to our surveys report that their knowledge of science, technology, engineering, math, and art grew during their time at Camp AMA!

One of the campers' favorite activities has historically been unstructured time just for building and flying.

However, the Education Team makes sure to include some sort of structure by bringing in interesting instructors to teach them about different types of flying. We've previously had lessons over aerial photography, control line, and so much more!

Campers have really enjoyed working with the instructors that attend Camp AMA. When they are not giving a lesson, they may be around personally helping campers!

And we don't just hang out and fly at AMA HQ in Muncie, Indiana! Sometimes we travel to the Hobby Shop, the National Museum of the United States Air Force, the movie theater, and other fun places to fly new aircraft!

And when it gets too dark outside to fly, we don't let that stop us! If we aren't sprucing up our planes with lights for some night flying, then campers are spending time with their friends and roommates at camp lodging!

Registration for Camp AMA has closed for Summer 2023, but it's never too early to start thinking about Camp AMA 2024!
