My name is Scott Fitzgerald. I have been an AMA member for 33 years. As a teenager, my interest in model aviation helped launch my career as an Aerospace Engineer and as a Military and Commercial Pilot. The last few years, I have been trying to give back a little to that which inspired me growing up. I have engaged in several educational outreach programs to support the National movement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education.

My friend and co-worker Paul Kaup and I have collaborated on STEM initiatives the last few years both independently and through our employer's educational outreach program. We have joined forces and entered a Nationwide challenge sponsored by Popular Science, the A&E Channel and the crowdfunding site Rockethub. We are one of 24 finalists in the challenge. Our program is called "Reach for the Stars." This is a great opportunity to promote STEM education and has the potential to help fund our future projects.

There are three elements to this challenge that can benefit our program.

1) Popular Science magazine sponsored challenge through Rockethub. 2) A&E channel scours the RocketHub proposals for content to be featured on their web-site as well as a potential spot in an upcoming show. 3) Proceeds from Rockethub will go to fund our current projects and grow our program in the future.
