STEPS camp at Grand Valley State University

The Science Technology and Engineering Preview Summer(STEPS) Camp at Grand Valley State University is for young ladies in the 6th and 7th grades. The aviation theme at the camp allows the girls to design, build, and fly their own model airplanes. This year, the camp will host 84 girls from across western Michigan. This is the 11th year for the camp at Grand Valley State University. They have had over 800 girls graduate from their camps. Sara Maas, director of the camp said “We are very excited for the girls to be here and are excited for them to have the opportunity to try something that they may not normally do. We hope that the camp gives them the confidence to pursue other interest in math, science, and engineering in their futures.”
