The following<\/strong> report was submitted by John McDill.<\/p>\n

In 2006, an entrepreneur began the search for an RC flying site. In 2007, he purchased 110 acres along the Ohio River south of Louisville, Kentucky. The flying site was approximately 24 acres, with the remaining 110 acres loaned to a neighboring farmer for crops.<\/p>\n

His original intention was to have a jet flying site and an initial membership of six. The plan was to construct a 50 \u00d7 800-foot paved runway with four paved taxiways, five fight stations, and an adjacent 60 \u00d7 800-foot grass runway. Field operation began in 2007 under the club name Ohio River View RC Flyers.<\/p>\n

Membership grew and the club hosted the Scale Masters in 2010, exposing the field to pilots from across the country. The club hosted the Scale Masters in 2012 and 2014, as well as events such as the Mint Julep, the EDF Jet Jam, the Fall Jet Classic, and a Warbirds and 3D event.<\/p>\n

County approval allowed for the construction of two large concrete pads with covered shelters, electricity, and water from an artesian well. The entrepreneur approached three of the members in 2017 and indicated that he was no longer able to be involved in the flying field operations and the club developed a plan to maintain the field.<\/p>\n

On January 1, 2018, the Rosewood RC Flyers (RRCF) was born. The RRCF charter was activated and the club received nonprofit recognition in Indiana and by the IRS. The club also pursued and received a property tax exemption.<\/p>\n

RRCF members appreciate the original entrepreneur and those who continue to support the club and invites anyone to stop by and visit.<\/p>\n

“This was my second year and it was just as fun as the the first. In June I spent a week in Muncie, Indiana, for the youth flight camp. It was nonstop flying fun. The instructors did an amazing job putting this camp together.<\/p>\n

“I had a great time flying with kids my age. Everyone was helpful and by the end of the camp, we all became pretty close friends. My favorite part was the night flight. We flew from 9 p.m. until 1 or 2 a.m. We had a fire pit and the planes looked beautiful in the air.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019d like to thank the AMA and all of the instructors for such an amazing expirence. It was definatly one of the best parts of my summer. I hope to return next year! If any kids have the chance to go to this camp, I recommend it.”<\/p>\n

Frank Noyes<\/strong> attended the Prairie Field Fly event held July 4-7. This event was put on by Rick and Brenda Lick of Fibertech \u2019n More at their farm in Weaubleau, Missouri. They had a north-south and an east-west grass runway with an amazing amount of overfly room. Everyone was friendly and sociable. They plan to make this an annual event and camping was available.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, on Friday, 7 inches of rain hit the area and the rest of the event was canceled, but not before getting in some float flying.<\/p>\n

The last submission<\/strong> is from Roy Black. July 13 was Roy\u2019s birthday, and he stated that there is not a better way to have a birthday than flying airplanes at the Mid Missouri Modelers flying field in Warrensburgm Missouri, 50 miles southeast of Kansas City. “We couldn\u2019t have asked for a better day to fly,” he wrote. “The wind was low and the sun was high. My wife, Karen, surprised us with plenty of pizza for a great birthday lunch.”<\/p>\n
