As far as\u00a0I know, this is probably one of the\u00a0largest charity fundraisers put on in\u00a0District VI.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This two-day show is held by the\u00a0River City Radio Controllers at the\u00a0club\u2019s flying site in Tom Sawyer State\u00a0Park. It raises more than $20,000\u00a0a year for the Kosair Children\u2019s\u00a0Hospital. Throughout the years, this\u00a0has amounted to more than $250,000.\u00a0Pretty impressive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/amablog.modelaircraft.org\/amadistrict-vi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/38\/2016\/08\/RCRC2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-291\" src=\"https:\/\/amablog.modelaircraft.org\/amadistrict-vi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/38\/2016\/08\/RCRC2.jpg\" alt=\"RCRC2\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/amablog-modelaircraft-org.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/38\/2016\/08\/RCRC2.jpg 750w, https:\/\/amablog-modelaircraft-org.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/38\/2016\/08\/RCRC2-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The show is well managed by\u00a0Contest Director Doug Bailey, with a\u00a0lot of help from many club members,\u00a0and volunteers from the hospital\u00a0as well. It draws several thousand\u00a0spectators during the two-day period.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">We\u2019ve been lucky enough to attend\u00a0the event for the last three years with\u00a0the AMA Education trailers to help\u00a0out. It kept my wife and me busy\u00a0that weekend with many adults and\u00a0children alike getting the feel for what\u00a0it is like to fly an RC airplane.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The following report comes from John\u00a0Earlywine.\u00a0The Fort Wayne Flying Circuits club\u00a0kicked off its flying season events with\u00a0the May Fun Fly on May 21, 2016.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Thirty-nine pilots from four states,\u00a0along with many visitors, enjoyed the\u00a0great weather and the flying.\u00a0This was the club\u2019s first event with\u00a0an FPV quadcopter racing course,\u00a0which attracted a lot of interest. A\u00a0large-screen TV was set up, providing\u00a0cockpit views from up to four of the\u00a0racers. On June 21,\u00a02016, the FAA released its rules for\u00a0small Unmanned Aircraft Systems\u00a0(sUAS).
