I am writing to you with an urgent request to join me in advocating for a better rule on remote identification of UAS (Remote ID). We need everyone’s help submitting formal comments to the FAA. |
| AMA is deeply concerned with the FAA’s proposed Remote ID rule because it will impose significant costs and burdens on the model aviation community. Specifically, we are concerned that the proposed Remote ID rule does not give community-based organizations such as AMA enough flexibility and control over fixed flying sites, requires registration of individual UAS, and could limit flying at places without internet connectivity, among many other issues. |
| It is important to point out this is not the final rule, but we need your help to ensure these concerns are addressed in the ultimate regulation. To help, I urge you to submit a formal comment to the FAA outlining your concerns with Remote ID and asking the FAA to address these issues. |

We strongly encourage you to make your comment(s) personal and to highlight your own concerns with the proposed rule. AMA members are unique, and we fly several disciplines that will be impacted in multiple ways by this proposed rule. It is important that we tell the FAA how each of us will be individually impacted and emphasize that it cannot force us into a one-size-fits-all approach. |
