{"id":809,"date":"2013-05-14T13:23:32","date_gmt":"2013-05-14T13:23:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amablog.modelaircraft.org\/amaclubs\/?p=809"},"modified":"2013-05-14T15:37:18","modified_gmt":"2013-05-14T15:37:18","slug":"central-arizona-modelers-spend-the-day-with-local-civil-air-patrol-units","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amablog.modelaircraft.org\/amaclubs\/2013\/05\/14\/central-arizona-modelers-spend-the-day-with-local-civil-air-patrol-units\/","title":{"rendered":"Central Arizona Modelers spend the day with local Civil Air Patrol Units"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Central Arizona Modelers (CAM) of Sedona, Arizona recently hosted activities in conjunction with the local Civil Air Patrol units for the first time.\u00a0Cadets and staff of Verde Valley Composite Squadron 205 of Sedona, and Cadet Squadron 212 of Cottonwood, joined many of the\u00a0CAM members for a day of learning about model aviation.<\/p>\n<p>The cadets spent the day learning about CAM, the AMA, and how RC models work.\u00a0 In small teams of 10, the cadets put together small free flight models, tested them, and then each team explained to the group what they had learned about these models. After a turbine ground demonstration, the cadets enjoyed buddy box time with CAM members and ended the day with lunch. \u201cIt was a fun day for all and a great chance to sic the modeling bug on some
