We take great pride in our club and we hope you find\u00a0everything you need to help on the exciting jorney of Remote<br \/>\nControl\u00a0Aircraft Flying. Whether you like Gliders, Airplane,\u00a0Helicopters or\u00a0Drones,\u00a0we know you will have the experience of\u00a0a life time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\" style=\"color: #01456a;\">Harbor Soaring Society is the oldest Chartered Soaring club in\u00a0AMA\u00a0founded over 50 years ago in the Newport Beach area. Our soaring\u00a0enthusiasts fly winch launch, discus launch, aero tow and limited\u00a0motor run gliders up to 4 meters (13 feet) wingspan. HSS members\u00a0are regular competitors in soaring contests around Souther California.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\" style=\"color: #01456a;\">We hold at least one contest at our field every year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"i7bbmzf2\" class=\"s2\" style=\"color: #000000;\" data-reactid=\".0.$SITE_ROOT.$SITE_STRUCTURE.$PAGES_CONTAINER.1.1.$SITE_PAGES.$mainPage.1.$i7bbmzf2\">\n<p class=\"font_8\" style=\"color: #01456a;\">In recent years we have been joined by members who fly all sorts of electric powered aircraft. Our members fly scale, sport, aerobatic and 3D airplanes of all sizes up to 10 lbs maximum weight. We also welcome helicopters and multi-rotors under 10 lbs take off weight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\" style=\"color: #01456a;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.harborsoaringsociety.org\/#!beginners\/cee5\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0HSS has a very complete\u00a0intro program for people wishing to learn how to fly. <\/a>Your first lessons are free, HSS will furnish an airplane, radios, batteries and the instructor at no cost to the student.
