WINGS OVER THE ROCKIES AEROMODELING AT THE HANGAR EVENT

2/15/2014

As a long standing tradition, Wings over the Rockies once again hosted the Aeromodeling at the Hangar event. With the continuous efforts from multiple personel, the event continues.

Many aspects of aero modeling from free flight to control line to radio control and even robotics were on display.  All the local clubs in the area were represented.  Some had flight simulators for want to be RC pilots.  Most had club information and handouts available.  Some had interactive events such as the make and take foam plate gliders.

With the help from the AMA and a buddy box system, many people helped with the long line of people wanting to fly planes and quad copters.  Steve Gram from the Miniature Aero Sportsters, Norm Burger, district 9 AVP from Jeffco Aero Modelers, Joe Pirozzoli, public relations officer from Arvada Associated Modelers, Dylan Neff from Airpark Elite and Tom Neff, district 9 AVP, also from Airpark Elite assisted all afternoon.

The make and take foam plate gliders were provided by the AMA. Dylan and Tyler Neff, with the help from their friend Susie, built and distributed planes to all that passed by.

The day was a huge success but couldn’t have been possible without these two. Randall and Bob Eakers have dedicated the time and effort for many years to make the event happen.
