KVAL News, August 19, 2012 – RC Model Airplanes took to the skies of Alvadore Field Saturday in a competitive airshow hosted by the Eugene RC Aeronauts.
Dozens of pilots came from RC clubs around the region to compete and exhibit their skills for onlookers. Even though some of the aerial feats look difficult, pilots said that anyone can pick up on the hobby.
One pilot said that the biggest challenge is keeping your hands and mind oriented with the direction that the plane is flying.
Plenty of pilots were at the air field today to teach newcomers to RC model airplanes how to fly the small scale aircraft.
The Eugene RC Aeronauts will be hosting their biggest event of the year on Labor Day.
